This show was mostly dedicated to the Olympics. We started by talking about the greatness of Michael Phelps. As we talked about the variety of ways Phelps was dominant, Matt kept bringing up Dara Torres it seemed and how inspirational that is. The swimming, as a whole, was very entertaining, but Ryan asserted that ratings would drop after swimming was done. Matt thinks that Track and Field could be a big draw. Caller Dave felt that Usain Bolt could move the meter a little. Steve felt that we should be watching more sports with women. We talked about gymnastics and Matt and Ryan talked about how women's gymnastics was a more entertaining sport, not just for the obvious reasons that girls are more fun to look at than boys. Tex was most intrigued by Ara Abrahamian refusing the Bronze medal. Steve still feels like the US "Redeem Team" may run into a difficult game or two. Matt says they will not have a single game within single digits. There was also a discussion about the medal count. Does it matter? Does total count matter most? Does gold medal count matter most? The opinions varied.

We discussed the AFC West, which Matt and Tex felt had only one with any chance at making the playoffs—The San Diego Chargers. Ryan felt like the Raiders would contend, though in the end they would not make it. Steve felt like the Chiefs and Broncos both had a chance to make the playoffs. The discussion was quite perplexing, as Matt said he picked the AFC West precisely because it was not a competitive division. Steve felt that it was the most competitive division in the AFC. Matt insisted that the South was far more competitive. We droned on about some more Olympics until we left, Matt went home and discovered that he recorded the wrong radio program.
